At the beginning of 2020, I embarked on my third Photo-a-day project. Of course, I had no way of knowing that the photos this year would take a very different turn from what I wanted. I thought I’d have photos from Japan, costume parties, family gatherings, etc. Instead it’s been heavily dogs, food, and home decor over and over and over…

The monotony of my subject matter prompted me to reach out to my gorgeous friend Sarah and see if she wanted to do some distanced photos. Sarah was my very first model when I got my first camera back in 2007, and she is always game for dressing up and being photographed. Thank goodness for her! She helped get me out of my rut! At least for a little while.

I have no idea why I love fashion photography so much. I’m not particularly into fashion. I guess I just love creating art and helping my friends feel beautiful.

When I first saw how the below photo turned out, and I actually said “Holy f*** Sarah!” to myself aloud!

I also love how this new edit looks with the winter light and Sarah’s coloring.

Damn, she’s so good at this!
